Er veröffentlichte 8 Bücher und 7 Filme über Gurdjieffs Ideen.
W. P. Patterson gründete und leitete ab 1992 das Gurdjieff Journal.
W. P. Patterson organisierte in den USA zahlreiche Gurdjieff Arbeits-Gruppen und Online Kurse.
W.P. Patterson´s Gurdjieff Biographie "Gurdjieff: The Man, The Teaching, His Mission" wird von vielen Insidern als beste bisher veröffentlichte Biographie von Gurdjieff erachtet.
